Description

Laurence Féraud is an iconic winemaker in Châteauneuf-du-Pape who owns and manages her family wine label, the renowned Domaine du Pegau. A benchmark producer of traditionally-styled Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Pegau’s bottlings are justifiably ranked among the greatest wines in the world.

Tasting Notes: Crème de cassis, exotic spices and tobacco and leather aromas on the nose. Full-bodied on the palate, with a long, lingering finish.

Serve With: Excellent with strong cheeses, grilled/roasted meats and dishes featuring complex, earthy flavors (like morel mushrooms).

This was followed by a further maceration period of 7-14 days, with 1-2 pump-overs per day. The press and free run juice was aged in 5,000 liter oak foudres for 18 months, and then blended and bottled without filtration.

Accolades

(93 – 95) pts, “I loved the 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Laurence. It has a more classic style in its Provençal aromas and flavors of peppery herbs, garrigue, sandalwood, and charcuterie, with medium to full-bodied richness and depth on the palate. It’s a classic, complex, gorgeous wine in the making.” – JD, JebDunnuck.com, 11/21 (2017 vintage).
